![]() Beyond its strong theme and units, the strongest things that Gekokujo does to differentiate itself are its map and faction amounts. As one might expect, it features a different troop tree and equipment that emphasize some different aspects (don't expect to see shields) among its many changes. Gekokujo is a mod that takes you to historic Japan, where samurai fight across battlefields alongside many other troops. Gekokujo Gekokujo's world map makes a surprisingly big difference. The minor factions play a big role here, and it even includes a conqueror who comes partway through the game with huge armies, tossing things into disarray and becoming a major faction. Other games lack that, and the mixture of Dwarfs, Elves, Giants, and Humans create a useful fantasy setting that has some very interesting factions and troop lines. I have a soft spot for fantasy and for mounting a killer wolf or dragon and charging over enemy soldiers as I can do here. While other mods have a lot to offer, I have to admit that Persino is a personal favorite. One really nice thing here is the interface for Clash of Kings is perhaps the best I've seen in Mount and Blade as far as options and ways to manipulate it go. ![]() Featuring the entire world, it sets you down in it during the eponymous book, which predominantly features the War of the Five Kings who you can join on any side and fight with. Other ones have more lag and lack the features and functionality of Clash of Kings, which are considerable. There are several Mount and Blade: Warband Game of Thrones/ A Song of Ice and Fire mods out there, but for my money, the best single-player one is Clash of Kings. Which Mount and Blade Warband Mods are Worth It? A Clash of Kings There are other Song of Ice and Fire mods but A Clash of Kings is the most polished. I've played around with all of these some and a bunch of others, trying to find the best Mount and Blade: Warband mods out there to make the wait for Bannerlord more tolerable. There are a wealth of Mount and Blade: Warband mods out there and here I'm going to run down some of the most interesting. But, what about when the base game is starting to get a bit stale? Well, then you can turn to mods. Depending on how you see your character, you may want to maintain alliances, or not.Since the wait for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord seems to be taking until the heat death of the universe, it is up to us to find our own Mount and Blade fixes. Then alliances are life saving.īut at the end, it is up to you. You can do just fine without temporary treaties (and they are all temporary, as you want to rule the world)īut in a mod like Phantasy 2018, where there are a dozen factions, where the most dangerous ones are spread out so they always have a stronghold nearby, where troops go to level forty and more, those temporary alliances are very useful.Īnd then there is Perisno, with more faction than I want to count, with invaders who have troops everywhere, with faction troops going up to levels 50-60. The enemy factions are few, each is geographically concentrated, and the troops do not go beyond level twentish. In Native+Diplomacy, there is little point. ![]() ![]() So I don't see the effort/benefit relation yet. Faction relations, however, are being reset all the time and are driven into the negatives heavily during war, much more so than personal relations. I never aimed at it and found myself with 40+ relations with all honorable lords, to just name an example. just comes as a byproduct of grinding the game. Also, right to rule, relationship with lords/kings/fiefs etc. Originally posted by Paddelboot:Well, I would like to bother with treaties - but the whole things seems very volatile in Native+Diplomacy, and !D|07-$y573M#38794's experience seems to confirm that. So you can bother with right to rule, relationships with kings, treaties, etc. Some mods have it set up so that you can enter a fight regardless of whether you are at war with the people you're assisting, or at peace with the ones you're attacking. Some mods are easy enough so that you do not care if you are at war against everyone. That is entirely up to you, and to the mod. , so I guess it's not really worth bothering with those things. As for finding them, you can get a quest from their relatives, or just keep an eye on the messages you get as they are captured. Same goes for rescuing them, plus you have to find them first)You can break a lord from jail even if you are not at war with the faction that holds him. And yes, if you are at war with their enemies, it is much easier.
